  Supple-Latex Natural Latex Lever Support System Non-Organic Mattress 

The Supple-Latex Natural Latex Lever Support System Non-Organic Mattress is manufactured in the USA by Strobel Technologies, a company that is leading the battle against government-mandated use of mattress chemical fire retardants.  This non-organic mattress is among the finest and most unique latex natural mattresses sold here and has our high recommendation!

Supple-Latex Natural Latex Lever Support System Non-Organic Mattress: This unique mattress is available with natural Dunlop latex cores of 3", 4", 5", 6" and 7".  It comes equipped with the patented Lever Support System.

This uniquely configured non-organic natural latex mattress is definitely one of a kind.  It comes from a company, Strobel Technologies, that is a leader in the campaign against use of fire retardant chemicals in mattresses.   We have had good feedback about Strobel products.  Optional but recommended: With a medical professional's note faxed to us, the Supple-Latex will come to you free of such chemicals. 

The mattress features a natural Dunlop latex core ranging from 8" to 11" -- your choice.  All mattress sizes come equipped with the patented Lever Support System, which, according to the manufacturer, conforms to the shape of the body, giving even all-over support and minimizing pressure points.

The benefit of the lever support system is the provision of balanced support to recessed contours of the body.  The lever support system works in concert with the natural latex to provide uniform contouring across the entire body, including the hips, shoulders and small of the back.

The lever-support components are approximately 8 to 12 inches wide and constructed of high resilience spring wire rods.   The Lever Support System is placed under the natural latex layer (see cutaway photo to right) and has a small amount of natural latex built right into the System.  Each lever-support looks like a ladder with an additional center support fulcrum in the middle.  There are six lever-support modules running horizontally directly under the natural latex layer.  These modules work in tandem as a system to compensate for unequal pressures. 

Similar to a teeter-totter, when a comparably heavy weight, such as the hips, is applied to one side of the lever-support, the other side springs up to provide additional support to recessed areas such as the lower back.

The resulting sensation is that of uniform support along the entire length of the body. This unique combination provides the lowest surface pressures of any mattress on the market today, according to the manufacturer.

Features of the Supple-Latex Lever Support System Non-Organic Mattress:

1.  Organic Cotton Ticking ventilates body heat, and is free of all chemicals, including dyes, bleaches, sizing, fire retardants (with medical professional's note faxed to us), chemical fertilization, and pesticides sprayed on cotton crops.  Also available: white Belgian Damask (100% cotton) and Prima Beige Rose (cotton/polyester blend).  No extra charge for the ticking of your choice. 

2.  Natural Dunlop Latex is used in the mattress core (97% pure rubber, imported from Sri Lanka).  Available in 3", 4", 5", 6" and 7" core sizes -- your choice.  Select a thicker core size for a more plush feel.  Note that the 3", 4", and 5" cores also have a layer of polyurethane foam, 1" to 3" under the natural latex.

Note: Some people have latex allergies, as can be the case with latex gloves.  However, according to the manufacturer, the latex material inside the mattress is non-reactive because it is encased inside of the mattress covering, mattress pad (optional separate purchase), and fitted sheet (that you add), whereas, gloves are in direct contact with the skin.  Also per the manufacturer, unlike polyurethane foam padding (the main padding ingredient found in most mattresses), these mattress natural latex cores do not emit vapors that trigger allergic or respiratory reactions.  However, as stated above, the 3", 4", and 5" cores also have a layer of polyurethane foam, 1" to 3" under the natural latex. 

 3.  Lever Support System is fully described above.  It is placed under the natural latex layer and has a small amount of natural latex built right into the System.  Overall height of Lever Support System is approximately 2.5". 

4.  Wooden 8" Foundation is a solid pine wood box construction with heavy-duty cardboard on top -- all covered in organic cotton or other fabric of your choice (see #1) that matches the mattress.  There is a polyester dust cover on the bottom side of the foundation.  No polyurethane foam used, unlike most foundations on the market.  The foundation provides outstanding stability and support for the mattress.  We regard this foundation as non-organic, even if mostly covered in organic cotton.
