The manufacturer says that this is the best thing in comfort and safety for your baby.  We like the concept and recommend you consider it for your home.  The crib mattress starts with 3 layers of 97% pure latex (1super firm, 1 firm and 1 soft).  They are placed inside a zip-off cover of organic cotton and wool for natural flame retardancy.  It even features a layer of wool quilted on the sides for protection.

This combination allows you to use the firmest side for your newborn.  As your baby grows, you can switch it to a softer, more comfortable mattress by simply rearranging the plates of natural latex.  The cover can be completely hand washed if needed.

As with all mattresses and futons sold here, we recommend use of an organic cotton crib pad and organic wool moisture pad to protect your child and your crib investment.
