Atlantis 8" Double Layer
Natural Eco Mattress:
The
Atlantis 8" Double Layer Natural Eco Mattress by Pure-Rest™ is a premium choice for your
bedroom! Its
97% pure natural chemical-free rubber
from Latex Green
assures that you will be sleeping on a healthy and (for most people)
hypoallergenic bed. Known for being resistant to molds, mildews and dust
mites, this is a good mattress for
allergy sufferers, according to the
manufacturer. Also per Pure-Rest™, natural rubber
is an excellent alternative for those with pressure point problems or with
concerns about electro magnetic fields.
Free of Volatile Organic Chemicals (VOC's), according
to testing paid for by the manufacturer. Pure-Rest claims that not all
"organic" latex mattresses are truly chemical-free, especially those made using
the Talalay process.

The large amount of padding shown in this image, per the manufacturer, is the
reason this is a generally soft and puffy mattress -- it provides a soft feel
on top and retains good support from the 6" latex core. Also visible in
the
image is the wool batting on the sides, which protects the mattress from
moisture, dust mites, etc. On the image to the left, we label all these
parts of the Atlantis mattress.
The
Atlantis is a one-sided tight-top mattress made of a 6" core of 97% natural
latex (31 ILD Firm) for support, topped with 2" of 97% natural latex (25 ILD
Soft) for added plushness. Overall height about 9". The mattress is covered with organic cotton and
Pure Natural Wool quilted to premium organic cotton ticking. It performs
best, according to the manufacturer, with the adjustable slat frame covered in
matching organic cotton ticking. For additional firmness, you may use it
with a wood foundation.

Basic Slat Foundation for the solid base feel.
Height about 7.5-8". This wood foundation goes well with
any Pure-Rest™ natural rubber latex mattresses, per the
manufacturer. Just below is an image taken at the plant showing stacks
of basic slat foundation frames. These are covered in wool and
organic cotton, as described below. The finished basic slat foundation
matches the Pure-Rest mattress in appearance. Click image to super-size.
The
manufacturer chooses poplar, it claims, as it is purportedly the least
offensive wood to chemically sensitive persons. The manufacturer says
that this type of wood is strong, durable, non-aromatic, and can be dried
naturally over time (i.e., no chemically-induced drying). The solid wood
frame is then covered in matching organic cotton, quilted to a layer of pure
organically processed wool (from organically raised sheep). This matches
the Atlantis mattress and provides airflow to control moisture. It is
sturdy and strong, per manufacturer claim.

curbside (customer responsible for getting shipment into house). Inside

Note that this optional setup does not include assembly of bed frames, which is
the responsibility of the customer. If in the unlikely event there is
"concealed damage" (i.e., something wrong with the product discovered only after
opening the box) and you have us arrange setup, the carrier would send it back
to the manufacturer for replacement at no additional expense to you. If
you do your own setup and discover "concealed damage" after signing for the
shipment and opening the box, you would be responsible for paying return
shipping charges (which might range up to $400).
