Swedish mattresses, but made with all organic and natural materials to make it
much more affordable.
Why is it like sleeping on the moon?
According to the manufacturer (Pure-Rest/Vivitique), the Lunar is unique in
these ways:
Each
innerspring is individually pocketed in organic cotton, so it does not interact
with its neighboring springs, according to manufacturer claim. This means,
according to Pure-Rest, that motion does not transfer from one side of the bed
to the other, making it much less likely to wake your partner when you move
during the night.
Each
spring also conforms individually to your body shape, giving you comfortable
support without the pressure points, almost like floating on air, according to
the manufacturer.
In
addition, the springs are electrically neutral.
For
the ultimate in comfort, the Lunar mattress innersprings are covered on each
side with 2 inches of soft 100% natural latex rubber and covered with deluxe
quilted organic cotton and wool top.
The resultant mattress, according to the
manufacturer: A super soft yet supportive sleeping surface for all body types.
There
are three recommended foundations to consider for this special mattress.
Our favorite is the Coil-On-Coil Box Springs, which is also covered in the
same organic cotton European fabric. The Lunar mattress can also be used on a

We recommend: Any mattress will feel
supportive but will feel softer with the addition of a plush topper. We
also strongly recommend use of an organic cotton mattress pad and/or wool
moisture pad on all mattresses (see
Bedding).

Vivitique, the manufacturer, uses
specific species of woods that naturally produce the least amount of chemical
irritants and toxins. The Pure-Rest box springs are made exclusively
from untreated, seasoned, kiln-dried woods.
Features of the
Coil-On-Coil & Basic Box Springs:
No toxic substance or ozone
depleting agents used in the manufacture.
Electrically neutral springs, free
of chemical and plastic coatings.
High gauge steel support coils are
covered with a thick quilted organic cotton/wool premium ticking.
Organic wool inside the quilted
cotton on the sides to reduce moisture and increase air flow.
Extra strong border wire is used to
reinforce the coils, hold the coils in place, and prevent the mattress sides
from sagging.

Flexible
Slat Foundation (click image just below to super-size) designed for
latex mattresses -- and it will work on the Lunar, as well.

The premium foundation for the natural rubber
mattress and a good choice for the Lunar is the Flexible Slat Foundation, with
thinner slats than the basic slat foundation. This slat system allows airflow on the underside of your
mattress. The manufacturer covers the sides of this foundation with
organic quilted cotton and wool.

you do your own setup and discover "concealed damage" after signing for the
