We strongly recommend adding barrier covers to all your mattresses, box springs, and pillows. This is for your own protection, and to protect your bed investment!

Dust mites are nasty little critters that can cause a lot of discomfort for people who are sensitive or overexposed to them. Dust mites like moist environment and, as their name suggests, they like dust. Barrier covers protect your mattresses and pillows from dust mites entering them and laying their eggs in your bedding.

Natural wool and natural rubber seem to also act to deter dust mites naturally.

Our barrier cloth is a high 440 thread count SKAL certified organic cotton fabric that is then heat pressed to tighten the fibers. The manufacturer claims that it does not contaminate organic cotton by adding any chemicals or urethanes. Chemical-Free.

In addition, the manufacturer says that it does not dye fabrics to make them look richer. The mattress or foundation covers have a brass zipper that zips on 3 sides for ease of use.
