Talalay Latex Mattress

The
EcoRest and EcoHaven use latex tapped from the Hevea Brasiliensis, a special
rubber tree which only grows in Southeast Asia. This milky-white liquid,
extracted from the trunks of mature trees in the plantations of Malaysia, is the
key ingredient which forms Naturlatex™ -- a latex mattress system that,
according to Natura, provides breathability, lasting resiliency, and unprecedented comfort. Note that
these mattresses have nearly 100% pure latex.

The EcoRest and EcoHaven Mattresses, according to the manufacturer, conform nicely to your
body's contours and supports the spine to provide orthopedic support. The
mattresses use latex produced in a sophisticated latex process -- Talalay latex. It instantly reacts and adjusts to changes in position
giving the body comfort and back support, per manufacturer claim.
The
manufacturer cites the ability of latex to gently support and conform to your
body, helping alleviate pressure points and reduces tossing and turning.
Natura states that the
latex mattress itself reduces pressure areas by as much as 90%, thus improving
the chances of a sound and comfortable sleep.
For
most people, latex is naturally hypoallergenic. Its anti-microbial
properties may inhibit dust mites, mold and mildew from thriving.
According to Natura, studies show that latex is 300% more resistant to dust
mites than other mattresses -- making Natura's two organic
mattresses potentially beneficial for allergy sufferers.
Latex is breathable, according to the manufacturer. The inter-connecting cell structure of the latex,
per Natura,
provides a natural ventilation system throughout the mattress, which allows heat
and body moisture to dissipate, for a good night's sleep.
Layers of Wool: The
EcoRest and EcoHaven Mattresses are distinctly different from other latex mattresses in that the
system comes complete with
luxurious, built-in layers of wool. According to Natura claims, this plush padding enhances the
benefits of the latex mattress by relieving pressure points while providing a
dramatic reduction in tossing and turning.
The
wool fibers add a dry, healthy environment to the mattress, per Natura.
Wool absorbs up to 30% of its own weight in moisture vapor, without feeling damp
or clammy, and releases it into the environment seven times faster than any
traditional fiber. Natura states that this dry environment does not allow
dust mite, mold and mildew buildup. Note that the underside of the topper
is covered with
100% organic cotton modified chambray designed to prevent the topper
from sliding around. This material is also used on the top and bottom
surfaces of the mattress and foundation.
No
Unnatural Fire Retardants, Per Natura: Note that we cannot
verify the following information, which was provided by Natura World, Inc.
Natura informs us that there are NO chemical fire retardant additives in Natura
products. The wool in the EcoRest and EcoHaven Mattresses is said by Natura to be
an excellent
natural fire retardant. However, just to be on the safe side, if you or
someone else plans to smoke in bed or anywhere near bed, Natura products may not be for you -- and we
request that you do not buy them.
